A mechanistic model on catalyst deactivation by coke formation in a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) has been developed the paper. Catalyst was treated as surface reaction. Four reaction mechanisms representing through different routes were proposed. The evolved system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) solved numerically using MATLAB. This approach validated applying it to skeletal isomerization 1-pentene over ferrierite. Simulation results compared qualitatively those obtained from literature. indicated that is an extremely rapid process with fast components strongest acid sites leading final coke. deposition slower at higher residence times resulting more stable product and weaker deactivation. this work revealed indeed able successfully demonstrate most essential features are agreement findings Future aimed extend study reactors such plug flow reactor, addition analysis system’s sensitivity variables temperature pressure.
